Book Review – Whack around the head by Sharon Eden

There has to be more than this to life surely…  Apart from the obvious joke, we’ve all had moments when we’re in a rut, depressed, or simply not sure about the next thing to do to get your life back on track. This is not specific to anything in particular, but “Whack around the head” by Sharon Eden may help you.To begin with, the book is small enough to park itself inside a handbag, a satchel or a briefcase for a quick read during the day during breaks. The suggestions it comes up with are intended to invigorate your here-and-now, to make the rest more productive and worthwhile.

The book is split into three main sections, Purpose, Passion and Power, book-ended with sections on Change – how you get yourself out of the initial rut, to looking at how though change is scary, it can be the agent of your energy for the three ‘P’s.

Purpose looks at your mission. What are you here to do? What do you want to do and how are you going to do it? Passion reminds you that for real change to happen, there must be a fire inside you driving you along. And Power looks at the way you take control of what you want to do. Use your internal purpose and passion to power you to a better life.

This book is littered with detail and quotes from significant people that make it something you can come back to time and time again. This is not just for now, or for next week. This is for the next time you need a whack around the head.
