Successful Time Management: Get brilliant results fast

The first thing that strikes you is the colour of the cover. A bright yellow-green is not normally a colour that you’d associate with a serious business management book. But this book is as serious as it looks. It is aiming to bring all of the techniques that you’d normally get in a Time Management book and present it in a way that makes it relevant for the world that we now live in.There are sections on goals, priorities and planning. But there are also sections on how to manage your time using Microsoft’s Outlook email program. The parts that I felt added extra value to the book were the sections later in the book on Assertiveness and time management in meetings. As the book says in the introduction, the book is not about creating more time, it’s about arranging it so that more can be done effectively in the time that we do have.

The book is written in a series of bite-sized chunks, with examples and recall points to allow its information to be remembered in small doses. This is useful in this hectic, madcap world where we have little stretches of time to work with.

I think that the overall benefit that this book brings to the business management scene is its energy and aim to make time management as interesting as possible, so that we can all benefit. It’s noticeable that there are other similarly designed books in this range. If they are as motivated as this one, then we are all in for a treat.
